| Etymology |
Ramphotyphlops: 'beaked blind-eye'.
ganei: "Named for Mr Lori Gane, formerly of Pannawonica, schoolteacher, amateur herpetologist and collector of the first known specimen of R. ganei in 1991. Also in acknowledgement of his role in the events which lead to the recognition of the Pilbara Death Adder as a distinct species."1 |
